About 4.5 billion years ago, about 100 million years after the Sun formed. But then, of course, not the Earth as we see it now – just a hot ball of space dust, in the beginning.
The Earth is 4565 million (or 4.56 billion) years old (as is Mars btw).
We know that because of radiometric dating of stony meteorites which are the building blocks of the Solar System.
