I wasn’t too sure to be honest. I thought I would end up doing something with computers or working with wildlife. It’s not until I was in university I really discovered engineering.
Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated and excited by machinery and engines in particular.
I think that by the age of eight, there was no doubt which way my life would lead, and just about all my working life has been connected with the motor industry in one way or another.
I decided to become an engineer at the age of 13. Before that, I swapped and changed between lots of ideas of what I wanted to do when I grew up (everything from archeologist to doctor!)
I always loved maths, science and design & technology. I love solving problems and creating things. I entered quite a few D&T and engineering competitions through school and really enjoyed them. When I found out that I could do all the things I loved for a career, it was a natural choice for me.
