Before University I was in Iran, but I got my high school diploma in mathematics and physics discipline. I think it is very important to have a background in order to an engineering degree, and for most of the universities might be a requirement as well.

If you’re studying in a UK school, I think that Maths GCSE (or equivalent) is compulsory for all students. For engineers though, particularly if you want to go down the university route, Maths A level is either compulsory or very beneficial.

      Maths is very important.

But don’t worry I only got a C and it’s never stopped me….I have had to put in extra effort latter on though.

Maths is essential for any type of engineering so yes GCSE in it is required.

It’s very useful to have a math GCSE for becoming an engineer as it’s very important, but I know people who struggled with maths at that level and at A level, and it just made them that more deterimined to get some extra help and put in more time to struggle less.
