I do, I think it is a crucial thing to have included in schools but it has to interesting and relevant to real life. It also shouldn’t exclude other subjects but work with everything.
Yes, definitely! STEM is so important to all aspects of life, even if you don’t want to work in any of the areas. Science/Engineering is the foundation to everything in our lives: everything from getting the bus to watch TV, going on holiday and and counting money to pay for clothes, even how we cook the food we eat! It’s important to remember, that STEM is everywhere, not just a subject we learn at school. It’s also not isolated, it relates to lots else. For instance, think about how different history would be if we didn’t have the developments that allowed for aeroplanes or weapons? How would we make movies and TV programmes to watch without technology? That’s not to say other subjects aren’t important too though! 🙂
I think STEM at schools are very important, and kids should make the most of it. STEM activities can make it so much easier for the students to find out what STEM fields actually are and if it is that they are interested in. Science/Engineering is the base of everything. Many great inventions which have made all our lives much easier and more enjoyable, wouldn’t have been possible without science and engineering. So the world needs more people in STEM fields, to make it a better place, to invent more useful things, and also to improve things.
