I properly decided when I was about 13, though I always enjoyed the school subjects that are useful for engineering (maths, science, design technology). I went through a lot of different ideas before then (including archaeologist and doctor!) It wasn’t for a while after that until I decided what type of engineer I wanted to do, I even did one degree (Aeronautics and Astronautics) and then changed my mind to Biomedical Engineering! I was 20 when I made that decision.
when I was in high school, about 15. But I wasn’t 100% sure what type of engineering I wanted. I also did think about becoming a lawyer, but then I realised it’s not really for me, I don’t like memorising stuff, and there are loads of things to memorise for a law degree 🙂
I always had the job of engineer in my mind ever since I can remember. Not exactly what kind of engineer but I just knew I liked to take things apart and figure out how to put them back together either to fix them or out of curiosity. At various ages, I changed my mind to what kind of engineer I wanted to be and where I wanted to work.
