I think they are going to be doing loads of the jobs that are currently done by humans, companies are always looking for automation where possible to save themselves some money. So we should choose our careers more carefully, choose something that is more difficult to be completed by a robot. 😀
Hopefully, they will be doing all the horrible jobs that humans just shouldn’t do, working in a nuclear reactor, working 1000s of meters under the sea, cleaning my clothes those kinds of dangerous jobs.
I think they will look like us more than they do know but not be as smart or able as you or I for a long time.
They will also be like whatever you build them as if you become an engineer or roboticist.
I think they’ll be doing those repetitive and mundane jobs that nobody likes. We’ve already started with that in factories for mass producing products. I think that’ll be the main thing. There are talks/tests going on about having robots with a video screen instead of human doctors present when in hospitals. So that the doctors could be anywhere in the world and still “see” patients.
I don’t think we’ll be in a situation where robots start to think entirely for themselves and take over the world. In the end, robots are just fancy computers, and computers can only be as good as the people who program them (at best!). Artificial Intelligence is just that, artificial. It doesn’t replicate the complexities of human intelligence.
I think there will be lots of specialized robots for basic tasks, Like delivering parcels and self driving lorries.
Also surgical robots for more basic operations.
A lot of the machines I use are computer controlled, so once I have programmed them up I can leave them to make parts for me so I can get on with other jobs
