A large green house gas sampling rig over a lake in Sweden.
It is like one of the camera systems used in big stadiums, there was lots of large heavy engineering and a limited budget.
But after a year of very hard work we installed it before christmas….and it works!!!

The most challenging assignment I got was when I was doing my Masters degree which involved programming and analysing data to create a new model. I had no idea what the lecturer wanted me to do and I didn’t know how to do it. We only had a few weeks to complete the work and I had other assignments to do at the same time. I had a lot of late nights and long days to figure out what I needed to do, and I did a lot of reading and learning to help me. I like to think I did it to a high standard, I did very well in the piece of work so I was happy! I even handed it in a bit early!

The most challenging assignment that I had to do was my bachelor’s dissertation. I had to use a coding program (Matlab) that I had no idea how to use. I remember one month before my submission date, I only had 4 hours sleep per night, those days were very difficult. But I managed to finish my dissertation to a very high standard, and the hard work paid off 😀

You can do it and you most likely will at some point in your life, whether you choose to be an engineer or not. There are always going to be problems you have to overcome. Just have faith in your skills and spend time planning 🙂
