      Pen and paper!!!!

      Lots of thinking.

I treat it like a game of chess, you must plan through the whole job/idea from start to finish before you start making anything!!!

Saves a lot of time further down the line!

I start by looking at the problem I am trying to solve. I do everything I can to find as much about it as possible and understand it.

      -Identify the problem
-Identify the end goal (what do you want it to do)
-Research to see if anyone has had a similar problem, take notes
-Consider all the different ways that can be used to solve the problem based on your research and your own knowledge
-Make a matrix of their feasibilities (sometimes something sounds amazing but when you look at all the aspects, it is just not feasible to do it!)
      – Narrow down the solutions
      – Go for the one that makes the best logical sense (sometimes you don’t do it though, depends on many things)

You have done your design process. (sometimes it’s more complicated)

Coffee, white board and different coloured pens. Then I write everything I know and the goal of the project and see what the gaps are (there is normally a lot) and this is how I begin the design process.
