No one inspired me, it was more that i loved science, maths and D&T at school and I love creating solutions that will help people. When I found out that I could combine all those in a career, it was a natural choice for me.
I aim to inspire young people by making time to talk to them and show them all the reasons I love STEM. I go into schools and deliver workshops and do events like this 🙂 I also do a lot of tutoring of science and maths and through that I like to relate what we learn to the real world to show its relevance.
Many amazing engineers and scientists inspired me, but mostly my dad and brother. I’m trying to inspire younger people by doing loads of STEM activities, to show them how STEM can be actually enjoyable and how you can help the world in many ways. I’ve been to many schools and public talks where I talk about what engineers can do, I show them examples of the works we do, we do loads of workshops for younger students (as young as 6 years old) such as welding with chocolate, so they get to see the basics of engineering. I go to career fares and answer students questions so hopefully they will see the advantages of STEM
