I live in Lincoln and I have one cat and live alone. I am a member of Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force and hold the rank of Captain. I play rugby for Lincoln Ladies. I enjoy walking, cycling and camping and love to go on holidays to places I have never been before. I am a regular gym goer and love to lift weights. I enjoy socialising with friends such as eating out or going to the cinema and I love to hang out with the rugby girls especially watching rugby with them. My favourite premiership rugby team is Wasps and I absolutely love watching England Ladies play and go to watch them as often as I can.

I work for Siemens Energy as as Design for Additive Manufacturing Engineer. I design parts for gas turbines that can be 3d printed in metal.
My job includes using Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create new designs or update and improve old designs by modelling them in 3d. Take a look at this video to see what CAD is:
So what is a gas turbine and what are they used for? Take a look at this short video:
I work with metal 3d printing called Selective Laser Melting (SLM) so what is 3d printing?

I work in an office with lots of other engineers.
I get to work at 8am and start designing new parts with CAD. Sometimes I can spend all day just working on CAD.
I have lunch to take a break and then in the afternoon I will do some more work on the computer using CAD.
Sometimes I have meetings to go to where I talk to other engineers about designs to make sure everyone is happy with the new parts and their design.
Sometimes I use the 3d printer in the office to print my design in plastic to show other engineers.
When I have designed a part I have to draw it (called draughting) so other engineers can see how it looks and how it can be made.
