Having grown up in Hampshire in the middle of nowhere I spent my summers working on my Uncle’s farm driving the combine and hay carting. I enjoyed ( and still enjoy) going to the cinema and spending time with friends.

At school I found something easy and other things quite hard. I loved maths but hated English and languages.  At A levels I studied Maths, Further maths, physics and Chemistry and was lucky enough to be accepted in Bath Uni.

Here I started my rugby playing career and played for both Uni and Bath Ladies. I now still play rugby although feeling my age a little!

I love to cook and hang out with friends. Although a lot of my time has been spent recently trying to complete my ICE application for Chartership.

I was lucky enough to be awarded a QUEST scholarship when I for university, and was able to gain experience with my partnering company, site experience during the summer months. This gave me great experience of working on construction sites as an assistant setting out engineer. I walked on jobs across the South of England including a project right next to London Waterloo Train Station and Grade II listed buildings in Weston-super-Mare.

Following graduation, I joined Amey Consulting working within the Swindon rail team. Here I worked on projects such as Falmouth Branchline Project, Thameslink and Crossrail. My main experience was working on Level Crossings and I became a technical lead in the office in this area.

I joined Arcadis Consulting in August 2014 and held a variety of roles include Project Manager and Design Manager. I am currently working on a project in Kings Cross, London.

Arrive off the train about 08.30 and head to the office. Switch on the laptop and grab a drink form the kitchen. Catch up on emails and write a must do list for the day!

Speak with disciplines across other offices to engage with current progression of work and understand what might be holding them up. Normally this will include a few actions for me that I will then try and sort. This generally includes doing some research, further emails and calls. Currently I am trying to arrange survey works. this involves speaking to people across multiple offices, speaking with suppliers and preparing the paperwork (very heavy in the Rail industry).

After lunch I normally have a meeting. In some of my projects I head up all disciplines and coordinate the design. This ensures standards are met, designs are integrated and match each other. This is called an interdisciplinary check and is very important for the project.
